Art! Fashion! Sewing! Flea-market! September 30, 2009

The Unity Fashion project takes clothes which haven’t sold in the “Unity in the Community” charity shop in Govan, (which is near the subway station, if you’re ever around there) and repairs, updates, renovates and modifes them to be sold at a weekly flea-market, with profits going back to the Unity Centre.

If you already have know a bit about dressmaking that’s great, if you don’t but want to learn, come along and have a go!  The group will run from 4-8pm at the Glasgow Social Centre on Osborne St (near 13th Note!) on Mondays and Tuesdays, so you can drop-in whenever suits you (give us a shout if you want to find out whether any other STAR people are going).

If you don’t think you’re the next Vivienne Westwood but want to get involved, we think the clothes would sell really well at a stall at the uni, if we could find people who want to organise it.

For more information contact us, or Unity (info@unitycentreglasgow.org)
