After our usual Wednesday night meeting STAR members rushed from the Queen Margaret Union over to the Boyd Orr Building to take part in a truly engaging and moving film showing experience.  The evening began with an brief introduction to the situation in Tibet by Aime from Students for a Free Tibet, followed by the screening of Theo Hessing’s documentary film “A Sacrifice” which  looks at the experiences of the Tibetan refugee Lhamo Kyab as he discusses his activism and the self immolations in Tibet.  After the film there was a great discussion in the theater lasting over an hour – with many people staying behind afterwards to continue discussions!

Thanks to the 70+ people who came along!  It was a truly memorable night!
